Lord of The Rings Quick Sketches

Just some quick sketches I did while watching Lord of The Rings. I used a square brush exclusively that I totally forgot about.

Nintendo DS sketches

I absolutely LOVE Nathan Fowkes' gouache studies. If you haven’t seen his amazing work, check out his land sketch blog: http://nathanfowkes-sketch.blogspot.ca/ (his life-drawings and paintings are mind blowing too).

I was inspired to study his sketches by doing some quick digital studies on my Nintendo DS. I don't have the full range of tools that's afforded with Photoshop (layers, undo's, brushes, etc), so it's a nice exercise :)

Just some work I did many moons ago for a pitch for a new Earthworm Jim game. This was before I learned how to paint.

I miss doing pencils and inks. Maybe I'll get to do some cartoony work in the future...

Just a quick sketch for a competition I never entered.

This was a painted poster I did for my buddy's birthday last year. It was my first foray into digital painting. A lot of bubble gum color was used, wanted to get that "Nintendo Power" vibe.  I remember growing up going to his house and playing a plethora of awesome games. As of late, my friend kept telling me how he had a hard time finding a left handed joystick,  so I combined those themes into a movie poster.

Life Drawings

Hello, thought I'd start off this sketchblog with a few life drawing studies I did a little while back. The drawings are done with charcoal ob large newsprint. The poses usually range from 30 seconds to 15 minutes.
